Supporting documentation:

  • BIAW Executive Committee Meeting , February 22, 2006
Pages 14 through 16 indicates that Rossi approached the BIAW about retiring his $2 million legal debt, and that BIAW staff negotiated down Rossi’s legal debt, and that the BIAW approved $235,000 for that purpose. In this document, the BIAW admits that the purpose of this negotiation is to help Rossi, who the association has determined to be the best bet for a pro-BIAW governor. The BIAW also admits that numerous comments and commitments were made to setup a Rossi support strategy and fund, that there is a “collective effort” between Rossi and the BIAW, that the BIAW considers Rossi a friend of the BIAW, and that the “BIAW is committed to him on the front end of this and it is now the right thing to do.”

  • BIAW Board of Directors Meeting, February 22, 2006
Pages 12 and 13 indicate that Dino Rossi approached the BIAW about retiring his $2 million debt and that the BIAW approved $230,000 for this purpose. This document indicates there was a goal that the debt payoff and Rossi’s request “be kept secret.” When the question about whether Rossi was running for governor was brought up, the answer is “for political and/or reporting purposes Dino was unable to start that at this time.”

  • Rossi's Testimony to the Public Disclosure Commission, October 7, 2007
Page 52 of this document clearly shows that Rossi is not being candid about other actions he had taken to gauge support, most notably his involvement with the BIAW, including conversations with key association leaders and lunch with MBA leaders.

  • Board of Directors Meeting, Master Builders Association of Kind and Snohmoish Counties, April 30, 2007
Page 1 includes a discussion about the MBA turning over Retro fund money to the BIAW. It describes how leaders in the MBA received a call from Dino Rossi and that they told him it was too early to decide about a contribution, just as they told the BIAW.
